Women far outnumber the men in Russia

This is a shocker of news – the latest census in Russia reveals that there is a tremendous shortage of men in the land behind the Iron Curtain. It has reduced by 2.2 million since 2002 – the year of the previous survey. 46.3% of the population is of males – this is a drop from the earlier figure of 46.6%.

Russian women live longer than their male counterparts and the number of women far outnumbers the men, hence this is a wakeup call for all Russians. The reasons attributed to this social imbalance and an undesirable situation is the high rate among mortality due to heart disease and excessive drinking.

Moreover, the men do not want to live in Russia and prefer to move out to greener pastures. Probably the strict rules of the State compel them to migrate to other countries. This could be their method of revolt and expressing dissatisfaction with the state of affairs in their country.
