A pipe bomb explosion occurred around 10 a.m Sunday morning in the area of Brown Valley of Vacaville City. The pipe bomb was wrapped inside a newspaper. According to reports, the bomb exploded outside a man’s house in the morning when he went outside to get the newspaper.
Bomb disposal squad, the Vacaville Police and other authorities reached at the explosion location immediately. The injured man was taken by an air ambulance to the hospital. His physical condition was unknown, but according to some neighborhood people, his injuries were not life threatening.
Investigators discovered another pipe bomb in the locality. The Vacaville police evacuated a dozen homes within a half-mile radius immediately. Some people have moved to Three Oaks Community Center for temporary shelter.
The Vacaville Police said that there could be more pipe bombs or explosive devices in the nearby location and have instructed the people in the area to be cautious. The Vacaville authorities have asked the residents not to pick up any items wrapped up in a bag or in a newspaper. Only one man has been reported as injured. There were no other injuries reported.
Mark Mazzaferro, the public information officer for the city of Vacaville later on confirmed that the bomb was not an acid bomb and denied the reports of multiple bombs reported earlier.
