Activists of the online network "Campact" protest US biotech giant Monsanto's genetically modified maize, MON 810

Most pre-teenagers squirm between the flow of innocence and adolescence. This doesn't seem to be the case with 11-year-old Birke Baehr. He now stars in a one-boy show taking on the likes of the food processing giant Monsanto, kibbling about Genetically Modified Foods or GMO Foods.

In this video, Baehr uses his pre-pubescent voice and a slide projector presentation in a humorous and forthright attempt to inform his brethren that the food industry is not what it seems. His contentions have been mirrored in other studies and common sense, but he does not ever name a specific violator. Whether or not Baehr accomplishes his goal by spreading the word, he definitely sheds a logical light on subject matter that most folks take for granted.

The video attached sheds light on CAFO or concentrated animal feeding operations. Baehr discusses industry advertising and policy to attract costumers. He discusses, with a bit of humor, the marginalization of farmers, who do not employ or sanction the likes of growing crops genetically modified.

It appears that his presentation has been underwritten and produced by an organization attempting to rally the troops for organic food farms called TED. The video and its presentation allow interested parties to delve into their own research by making blanket statements that definitely allow for serious thought.

Man, you are quick on the draw. I have been more a tune to the GMO arguments and concerns. More of my friends have been lobbying me to research how pervasive they have become and now how much power the farming producers have obtained. I am always suspect of obtaining too much power.

My pleasure Wendy. Food safety bill recently passed in the U.S. Some say written by the Monsanto lobby.

I like the line in there where he says that when he was younger, he wanted to be a pro football player. Now he wants to be an organic farmer.

Great story Nathaniel.

Maybe some day Monsanto will get it. We don't want GMO's.

Thanks for the view Dava. It is amazing how big they have already gotten with GMOs.

The control of food is devolving to ever more powerful multinational corporations. It's not about nutrition, it's about money and power and as long as the consumer blythely purchases food based on price point, it will only get worse. Real farmers are being squeezed out everywhere. I think someone should tell this young man that he's too late to be an organic farmer, the corporations have hi-jacked that too.

Oh gosh, I hate to hear this. I believe it! But, I hate to hear it. I am watching the big boys buying up land here in Brazil. I don't know how to inform the folks here or there that it may get worst.
