MANILA, Philippines – Popularity comes miraculously as if by divine intervention or may be by mere curiosity. The song “Friday” may be the worst song as panned by music critics, but it now garnered more than 30 million views at You Tube and now number 45 on the ITunes list of best-selling singles.

The most criticized song is “Friday” sung by a 13-year old Rebecca Black and was uploaded at YouTube by Ark Music Factory hired by Rebecca’s parents to produce the song.

The video became popular after it was linked by a popular comedian on his blog saying, “Songwriting Isn’t for Everyone.”

The miserable appraisals of the song only stimulated more interest in the video. Time magazine described it as a “train wreck” and its video as “hilariously dreadful.” A music blog called it a “mind-meltingly horrific song.”
