SC Freiburg vs 1. FC Kaiserslautern 2 - 1 (- Goals & Highlights -)

In an uncharacteristic mediocre Friday afternoon game, Kaiserslautern emerged the victor over the worst team in the Bundesliga this season. Gladbach's Keeper Logan Baily, who came out to fist a ball out of the goal area, after a cornerkick, had the misfortune of fisting it into his own goal. The goal assured the victory for for 1.FC Kaiserslautern, which temporarily moved up to 12th place in the league.

Overall the victory for Kaiserslautern was deserved. After the unlucky own goal, Gladbach was unable to pick themselves up and fight against relegation. More has to be expected from a team that wants to avoid playing in the 2. Bundesliga next season.

Tomorrow the Bundesliga sees several interesting matchups. Dortmund, which is playing at home, will meet Mainz 05, which with 43 points wants to retain a place in the standings that will at least qualify it for a Euroleague position. Dortmund of course will attempt to expand its runaway lead in the league. Nuernberg will attempt to continue its climb to the top, a team with the best Bundesliga season in almost two decades. Their opponent is Werder Bremen, which will try to attempt to climb out of the relegation zone danger area.

Bayern Muenchen, which was disqualified from Champions League, after its loss at home against Milan, will try to pacify its fans, when they are guests in Freiburg. Freiburg on its part will attempt to move further up the standings. Bayern will have to perform.

Third place Hannover is meeting Hoffenheim, which is struggling this season to hang on to the top third of the Bundesliga.

Two games will be left to play on Sunday, Leverkusen (2nd Place) vs Schalke 04, which has qualified for the German Cup finals but lingers in the bottom third of the league. Stuttgart plays Wolfsburg. Both teams are still well into the relegation danger zone.
