Assistant commissioner, Muhammad Younis of Qallat city of Pakistan revealed today that he received a call from a person claiming to be federal Law Minister of Pakistan Babar Awan yesterday who asked the commissioner to call over the Hindu community of the city to his office, as he wanted to talk to them about something important.
Later on, when the prominent leaders of the community were called, which included Lak Hami Girjee Maharaj, the founder of famous Kali Mandir, fraudulent fake Law Minister told them that the government had decided to provide them with 18 luxury cars. But in order to receive the cars they had to deposit an amount of approximately a million rupees to his account, which they immediately arranged and deposited.
Later on, when no confirmation was given to them by any government sources about the dispatchment of the cars they were promised, they called the law ministry number in Islamabad to confirm about it, but to no avail, as it had got too late to act.
Police and the cyber crime cell are trying to locate the person who impersonated as Law Minister Babar Awan over the phone, and be-fooled Assistant commissioner and the Hindu brethren of Qalat.
