Precious Moments, Sampaguita Gardens and Resort

Last month, Feb. 27, my friends and I went to New Washington, Aklan. There we visited the Sampaguita Gardens and Resort where we found the largest collection of Precious Moments Dolls. The resort is owned by the Precious Moments creator Mr. Sam Butcher. The Gardens is a resort which had an amusement park, a convention center which is housed under one mansion. They also had a Circus Rides, Spa, Swimming pool, a Gym facilities, a 43 ft. Aquarium, and you can also find Jojo’s Christmas Cottage in this cottage they are selling Precious Moments collectibles, and in this cottage you would truly feel that it is Christmas the whole year round, they also have a Butterfly Farm and a Precious Moments museum.

New Washington, Aklan is a 2-3 hours ride by a private car or a rented van from Iloilo City. From Iloilo you would pass by the province of Capiz and then Aklan, going to New Washington, you could also pass by the Kalibo Airport.

The whole place is full of wonderful scene. The whole place can be enjoyed by people from diffrent walks of life, young and old alike. At Jojo's Christmas Cottage, you would surely feel the Christmas Spirit for everywhere you look there is a christmas tree and the dolls comes in diffrent shapes and sizes.

Here you can find a Thailander Doll, where in the dolls are wearing a thai costume and also there is a chinese dolls, wedding dolls, where in the dolls are dressed in wedding dress. There is also a Filipino dolls, where in the dolls are wearing an "ati atihan" costume. In a word they house a wide variety of dolls from all the diffrent places where he had visited.

So if you happend to think about BORACAY do stop by in this place. Your visit to Aklan would not be complete if you would not visit the Sampaguita Gardens and Resort.
