The second round of Indonesia Super League (ISL) was started at Saturday, February 5th 2011. At singapurbangsa stadium Kerawang Bekasi,West Java, Pelita Jaya was challenged by Sriwijaya FC. Pelita is now getting stronger by the support of 3 new players, Doig, Hearfield and the Malaysian international Muhammad Safee Sali. They dominated the game and got several chances to create a goal but the first half was goaless. At the second half they were still dominating the game and a fatal mistake of failing to clear the ball away by the Sriwijaya’s defense was punished by a simple placing by Safee Sali. Sriwijaya who missed some of their injured players after playing in Asian competition was looking too tired to equalize the score. The match end up with a nice beginning for Safee Sali.
At Agus Salim stadium, Padang, West Sumatera, Semen Padang was hosting a super big match against Persib Bandung. Persib Bandung got 2 new Players, Matsunaga Sohei(former Schalke 04 player) and Milijan Radovic who are expected to help Persib reaching their best level. The host side enjoyed a greater possesion but wasn’t able to make a goal. First half ended without any goal. At the second half, a fast counter attack from Persib Bandung surprised Semen Padang when the Japanese Matsunaga Sohei ran quickly to chase a real good pass from the midfield side and stroke the ball hardly to the left side of the goal keeper Jandia Eka Putra. Semen Padang players were frustated after the goal. They became so emotional and some of them were caught in the act when trying to injure their opponents. But their non-stop attack finally resulted in a lucky goal at the injury time which was created by Fendry Mofu. This draw saved them from suffering a first time defeat at their home.
