Shots fired at Yemen protest

(From Albawaba)

At least one anti-government demonstrator died on Tuesday in Ibb province after being attacked by government supporters during fighting between the two sides two days ago.

According to Yemen Post, Omer Abdul Rahman, 12, was attacked by pro-government elements while he was participating in anti-government protests with his father. Pro-government protester fired live bullets on Omer's back, and he was taken to the hospital on Monday evening, and died there the next morning. Tens of thousands took to the streets in the cities of this southern province on Tuesday, calling on the government to bring to justice those responsible for the deadly attack.

Meanwhile, some 2,000 inmates staged a riot at a prison in the Yemeni capital after taking a dozen guards hostage. They called for the country's president to step down, a security official said Tuesday
