BBC AND UK POLICE FOLLOW UP ON EBC LAND-FOR-SALE SCAM

Breaking News update; EBC November 24th 2009 report ‘Journalists Uncovered Massive UK Land-For-Sales Scam’ has a great result, the UK police made some arrests; http://www.actionfraud.org.uk/victims-of-land-banking-fraud-should-report-to-action-fraud-dec10 [Victims of land banking fraud should report to Action Fraud].

BBC has followed up with its own investigation this week, [ http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-12609590] discovering the size of the ‘Land Investment Scam’ the Metropolitan Police, FSA ‘Financial Service Authority’ have been forced to act. “Jonathan Phelan, head of unauthorized business at the FSA, said the organization was doing its best to clamp down on the problem The FSA said it had closed down five land investment schemes in the past year in which £42m had been invested. However it can only act if it is able to prove that a firm is effectively running a collective investment scheme in which it promises to liaise with potential developers on behalf of clients”’
