T20 World Cup: Shahid Afridi back home

Shahid Afridi wrecked havoc with his wonderful spell with a near hat-trick against the minnows Canada. It was his second 5-wicket haul in this world cup. It could very well have been another upset in the 2011 cricket world cup if Canada had been able to hold their nerve but, inexperience showed.

Afridi led from the front as captain in this match in the R Premadasa Stadium in Sri Lanka. Even though his team could not play their full quota of 50 overs and even though the score fell short of the 200 run mark, he had the confidence and it showed in the way he managed to rout the Canada team.

It turned out to be a one-man show and he was rightly adjudged the Man of the Match.
