-First Lady Cheri Daniels once again sponsored the Hoosiers Helping Hoosiers Food Drive during the month of February. The food drive was a challenge to all employees state-wide to help their local food pantries.
Many creative ideas were used to raise more than 2,000 non-perishable food items in the Vincennes District of the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), surpassing the goal of 1,500 items. The District includes all or parts of 18 counties in southwest Indiana.
The Vincennes District complex donated their items to the Salvation Army, while the outlying subdistrict donated to their local food pantries. "The entire Vincennes District did an amazing job of coming together and helping such a great cause," stated Rusty Fowler, Vincennes District Deputy Commissioner. "Our committee for this project did a fantastic job of creating events engaging people to participate. We continue to see our INDOT family come together for a good cause."
