The NY Times is reporting today about Girls in Tech, specifically how young girls are far more likely to create content, code up webpages, and make "glitter" art for places like MySpace pages. They interview Jane Margolis, co-author of “Unlocking the Clubhouse: Women in Computing” (MIT Press, 2002) who says that so far, the numbers for women in computer science, which is the next level up from webpage making, is still low.
The article is placed in the Fashion section, instead of Technology. The article is called "Sorry, Boys, This Is Our Domain."
So the NYTimes reports on how many more girls are expressing themselves with webcode and webdesign. Great.
