Department of Science and Technology (DOST) of the Philippines have a solution that aids in battling a deadly disease known is Dengue Fever, that is affecting the countries in Asia mostly the Philippines.

Philippines have higher cases of dengue-related mortality that is affecting mostly children, compared to other countries in South East Asia according to a yahoo.com article.

Wikipedia defines Dengue fever also known as breakbone fever, as an acute febrile infectious disease caused by the dengue virus.

DOST thought of an effective way of battling the disease and came up with Mosquito Ovicidal/Larvicidal (OL), a kind of a trap that is said to be proven effective in fighting dengue carrier mosquitoes as studies show.

According to DOST, the device is not only known to effectively prevent dengue, but it's also not expensive since it's made of disposable tin can. The trap looks like a nest that is said to be attractive to mosquitoes, but can kill them.

According to the Secretary at Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Mario Montejo, the Philippine government has started distributing the OL Trap in the Philippine areas mostly affected by Dengue.
