Famous singer Malaysia Vasudavan passed away at a private hospital in Chennai, India, on February 20 at the age of 67. It has been reported that veteran singer Vasudevan Nair was admitted to the private hospital last week due to cardiac problems.

M. Vasudevan made a remarkable recognition in the field of Tamil playback singing with his majestic and powerful voice. Almost 8,000 songs in Tamil and more than 4,000 songs in other South Indian languages are to the credit of Malaysia Vasudevan.

With his unique texture of voice and amazing feel, M. Vasudevan brought a refreshing feel to the songs, which made him distinguished from many mainstream singers.

M. Vasudevan sang all genres of music effortlessly and worked with many leading music directors of the industry including MS Viswanathan, Ilaiyaraja, Shankar-Ganesh, AR Rahman and many more.

M. Vasudevan is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
