The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology or Philvocs recorded an eruption this morning at Bulusan Volcano in Sorsogon. According to Renato Solidum, Phivolcs director, the explosion was reported at 9:15 am today and it reached as high as 2 kilometers.

The volcano was first reported to have began spewing ash and steam in December last year. Phivolcs has already evacuated some of the residents near the area.

Bulusan is the highest peak in Sorsogon, covering a land area of 3,672 hectares.
