Moin Khan Hits Ruwan Kalpage for SIX

Sri Lanka had a remarkable victory against Canada on Sunday during its start up match for the World Cup Campaign.

Mahela Jayawardene’s fast century and his big partnership with captain Kumar Sangakkara, has played a vital role in the victory. In chasing 333 for a win, Canada struggled against both the Sri Lankan opening bowlers and ended up meek loser. The Canadian 50 came in 122 deliveries, and the 100 off 186 deliveries. The innings folded up for 122 in 36.5 overs.

Mahela Jayawardene was the Man of the Match for his fast 100.

Sangakkara scored the ICC World Cup record for the maximum number of stumpings. He is now standing with Adam Gilchrist and Moin Khan with seven stumpings each.

Rizwan Cheema had one of the finest short innings (37 off 35 balls). He took on the world's best spinner, Muttiah Muralitharan, hitting him for a six and a four in one over — and carting another six in the next over. However,he got caught later on at backward point in Muralitharan's over.

Sri Lanka'had its first 50 in 9.3 overs, and the 100 took 21.4 overs and ended up with 332 for the loss of seven wickets at the end of its 50 overs.

In chasing 333 for a win, Canada fight against both the Sri Lankan opening bowlers but it ended up within 37 overs. The Canadian 50 came in 122 deliveries, and the 100 off 186 deliveries. The innings folded up for 122 in 36.5 overs.

Canada had no luck with the UDRS when they were in the field. The UDRS, in its current form, is reduced to its most basic requirements: a ball-tracker (Hawk-Eye), super slo-mo camera, and a 'clear' stump mic, none of which are particularly helpful with edges.
