The police at times come up with ideas that sound ridiculous. Like when they advised an electrical engineer in Surrey to put up a sign in his shed to warn would-be robbers and combat possible thefts.
The retired engineer of BBC stores valuable electrical equipments in the shed and the police have advised that he put up a suitable sign to warn the thieves that they could get electrocuted if they tried to steal. Not just an ordinary sign but one that glows in the dark because thieves usually operate at night without lights.
Earlier the police had advised the public to use strong and reliable locks and not resort to putting wire mesh on windows because, if the thieves got hurt while breaking in, they could sue the owner for damages.
