A tug was crushed between two vehicles Thursday in Chertsey, Lanaudière.
According to the Surete du Quebec, making a truck spreading salt got stuck on top of a sloping ice early in the afternoon. A call was made to obtain assistance from a tow truck to pull the vehicle to its poor location.
It was 15h when the tug arrived on the scene. As it was not him either able to climb the slope, the truck driver asked an acquaintance to come on the scene with his truck to pull the tow truck at the top of the slope.
The driver of the van parked his vehicle between the trailer and truck in the middle of the coast, and got out. While the tug was busy tying the two vehicles with chains, the van began to slide downwards. The tug, which did not rely preview, was crushed between two vehicles.
He sustained serious injuries and died later in hospital.
