OGIE CELEBRATES HIS BIRTHDAY AT 42 YEARS OLD

MANILA, Philippines – Once again the Filipino people are busy preparing for the celebration of the EDSA People Power come February 25 which is one of the most historical events in the Philippines.

On the said date, former President Ferdinand E. Marcos stepped down after more than twenty years in power and the same day when Corazon Aquino became the first female president of the Philippines.

These happened because of the unity of the Filipino people to ask for the downfall of a dictatorial government through the People Power. The people won without a drop of blood. Indeed, it was the most peaceful revolution known in world history. Mrs. Corazon Aquino was even nominated for Nobel Peace Prize.

On February 25, for the first time, ABS CBN talents, GMA-7 talents and TV5 talents will be together to perform from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. according to Ogie Alcasid who is a member of the EDSA People Power Commission as reported by PEP.

Reportedly, singer songwriter Ogie Alcasid as the newest member of the commission started his day today joining a cleanup drive at Edsa People Power Monument. Members of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines, people from Unilever, the major sponsor of the cleanup drive, Dept. of Public Works and Highways, and the AFP joined in the preparation of the place where the celebration will be held.
