MOGADISHU – The United Nations envoy for the Somalia ambassador Augustine Mahiga has landed at the Somali capital Mogadishu on Saturday afternoon and met with the Somali president Sheik Sharif Sharif Sheik
There had been disagreement over the extended period between the transitional parliament and the transitional MPs since the international communities increasingly condemning the decision of the legislators.
The president had welcomed the UN representative for Somalia at Villa Somalia, the presidential palace and reportedly discussed more the parliamentarians and how they agreed extending 3 years to their period.
“The International communities will not support the decision of the parliament, because the step was not discussed or consulted with the world. We suggest for the government to the come together talk.” said Ambassador Mahiga
It is the first time that the UN envoy for Somalia to arrive in the Somali capital Mogadishu since the parliamentarians approved the 3 years extension term.
