Here are sets of amazing photographs from the winners and contenders of 2010 World Press Photo Awards. South African photographer Jodi Bieber is the overall winner, also won first place award for her haunting portrait of a brutally mutilated Afghan girl. The 44-year-old freelance photo-journalist will receive a cash prize of €10,000 in a ceremony later this year. The photograph of the 18-year-old Bibi Aisha, who was rescued by the U.S. military and now lives in America awaiting reconstructive surgery won the overall top prized World Press Photo award for 2010 which was also featured on the cover of August's TIME magazine.
