Samarra, Iraq - At least 30 people were killed and 28 injured Saturday in a suicide attack against a bus of Shiite pilgrims near the town of Samarra, north of Baghdad.
The bomber got on the bus when the vehicle was stopped at a checkpoint a few miles from Samarra and detonated the explosives, " said a police source.
"We received 30 bodies, two of them women, and 28 wounded, " said an official of the hospital's general Sunni town of Samarra, located 110 km north of Baghdad.
The pilgrims were returning from the funeral of a Shiite imam in Samarra. The victims of the bus passengers and pedestrians are all Iraqi.
