Ben Dover UK's most Famous Porn Star Now on the Stage

When I first met the guy now famous as Ben Dover his name was Lindsay Honey and he was a drummer in the band La Rox formed after the Bay City Rollers split.

The Rollers manager Tay had been convicted up in Scotland for sexual offences against under age boys and this had led the break up of one of the most popular and famous boy bands in the world.

They formed a new band called La Rox and Lindsay Honey was the drummer and as Lindsay said “We were big in Japan” and indeed they were awarded several platinum discs and an LP.

I was making erotic movies at the time and Lindsay answered my advertisement in the showbiz newspaper The Stage. La Rox was not popular in the UK despite its members being composed of all the old rollers and Lindsay was looking for work as a porn model. Most adult entertainment then was soft but I refused to censor my films and I soon discovered that Lindsay was a male stripper whose speciality was the “Aeroplane” and that he had the biggest appendage in the business.

“Why did you dye your hair blond?” I asked him

“All Japanese girls think that Westerners are blond” he laughed. “The stage would be covered in girl’s knickers” he remembered a far off gleam in his blue eyes..

So he starred in a couple of my titles Models and Truth or Dare that were the first uncensored videos openly published on the UK market in the 1980s.

My company Videx Ltd made lots of money and went to Cannes where we secured millions in orders but when we returned we were all busted and I ended up in prison and that’s when Lindsay started up as a producer and became famous as Ben Dover.

We have always kept in touch and are still friends but what is amazing about Ben Dover aka Lindsay Honey is that he has now carved out a successful career on the stage as a comic!

Of course as everyone in the UK has heard of Ben Dover his act is based on his life as a porn star and includes lots of funny stories about his life...

Ben is appearing in Brighton on Monday the 14th and at the Leicester Square Theatre on the 11th and 12th . The Brighton gig starts at 8.30pm and finishes about 11pm and the gig at Leicester Square Theatre starts at 7.15 and finishes at 8.45pm.

His co-stars on Friday are MC Paul Gannon chortle.co.uk probably the worl's biggest comedy website and Newcomer of the Year Diane Spencer and Kunt and the Gang. Other stars are Ashley Frieze and Paul Dennis and Nik Coppin.
