I was never a big fan of "American Idol," largely because I didn't like the "nonsense" with Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul. Even after Abdul left, I didn't watch - Simon bothered me. Even now that he's gone, I do not rush to the television because "Idol" is on. For some people, their day "revolves" around the show.
That said, I am more inclined to watch now, if "nothing else is on" and there isn't something more immediate that needs to get done, with Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler as judges. Lopez has matured tremendously as a human being and she certainly knows talent. Also, she does not enjoy "ripping people apart," a quality that was "all too rare" apparently in previous seasons.
Steven Tyler is simply "a musical legend." With 40 years in the business, he, too, knows, talent and he's got a terrific personality. He wants to see people succeed. Lopez and Tyler, combined with Randy Jackson, make for a good team of judges.
"American Idol"? Maybe I'll watch.
