shocking abuse of little boy by adoptive mom!

January 31, 2011, Anchorage, Alaska]------A Mormon adoptive mom from Anchorage, Alaska, was caught on tape mercilessly abusing her little son.

This shocking video, which was first aired on the Dr. Phil show in November 2010, was secretly, taped by the abusive mother's own daughter.

36 year old Jessica Beagley was shown forcing her 7 year old adoptive son to hold hot sauce in his mouth, then forcing him into a cold shower as he screamed uncontrollably. All this abuse was inflicted as punishment on a 7 year old for allegedly lying.

Beagley has since been charged with child abuse and says she will be pleading not guilty.

According to CBS Crimestopper, the abusive woman's lawyer, William Ingaldson, had the nerve to say this about the televised abuse, ""She has not done anything that would warrant a criminal charge for child abuse --If this hadn't showed up on 'Dr. Phil,' there wouldn't be anybody saying anything about it."

So in this lawyer's twisted reasoning, if no one sees the cruelty done to children behind closed doors, it's not abuse?

Incidentally, Beagley has 5 other children in the home, including a twin brother of the abused 7 year old, whom she had adopted from Russia when they were 5.

Reportedly, the Office of Children's Services has not removed the children from the home, even if mom is charged with child abuse. Her husband Gary Beagley is said to be a police officer.

Sadly this is normal behaviour for some. Wonder what she felt when she actually saw the footage

Yes Ethel---abuse under the guise of discipline is going on all over the globe. It's time parents realize our kids are not our chattel.

I can understand the hot sauce, to a degree; in the old days a lot of kids(including me) had their mouths washed out with soap for lying, or for using bad language. The hot sauce is an extension of that, and frankly, if I had the choice, even when I was little, I'd have taken the hot sauce every time...(but then, hot sauce is a side dish for me not a condiment and I have a stomach like a goat.)

That being said though, the cumulative action is undeniably abusive and is absolutely inexcusable; my biggest concern is the lack of security for children in foster care, and there's no guarantee that for those kids, they may be going from the frying pan to the fire...

I know about soap in the mouth and much worse. it was abuse then and it's abuse now, even if the law didn't recognized it as such.

We as parents need to learn that we do not own our children and can't do whatever we think is best for them. You shouldn't treat a stray animal that way! There are lines we shouldn't cross. She was way over that line.

Is that why she's adopting all these children, to abuse them? Why would she go all the way to Russia to rescue these children, only to turn around and treat them worse than a drill sergeant in the toughest of armies? She is no better than the abysmal orphanage most of the children come from.

Now, Veronica, being a lawyer myself, I can appreciate William. They defend their clients FOR A FEE. I am sure, he wouldn't approve of her conduct, heart of hearts.
I wouldn't blame her either! She must have had similar parents. She deserves psychiatric help.
Rated up.

Thanks for the ratings. Yes, I know lawyers have to defend their clients but don't be stupid and appear and say things that make you appear as cold and unfeeling as your client. Would not endure any juries that way! Dumb strategy.

I saw this (beyond) heart breaking story this morning and I am just wondering if this boys teacher knew what this innocent child was going to face when he arrived at his...I refuse to call it a home because it is more like a warzone. My prayers every single day will be that she will be in jail for the entire year and come back to NOTHING.

The sad thing is she adopted this little boy, along with his twin brother from Russia. They she takes them home to this? she is much worse than the orphanage! Apart from the pain inflected by the hot sauce and cold shower in a place like Alaska--she totally terrified that child. The fear is so heart-rending to watch.

Being so terrified of your mother who is supposed to be the one place a child can feel safe, is heartbreaking to watch.
