It has been confirmed by Suffolk County authorities that all four bodies found on Gilgo Beach have been identified. Three other women, who were found on a Long Island beach, have been identified by police and put under investigation as part of the Craigslist serial killer case.
The victims discovered on Gilgo Beach in December are identified as 24-year-old Melissa Barthelemy from the Bronx, 27-year-old Amber Lynn Costello of North Babylon and 25-year-old Maureen Brainer Barnes from Norwich, Connecticut.
It has been reported that Melissa Barthelemy, Amber Lynn Costello and Maureen Brainer Barnes lived in New York area, worked as prostitutes or escorts and advertised their offers and services online.
The development in the Craigslist serial Killer case came when authorities identified the body of 22-year-old Megan Waterman, a missing prostitute from Maine. All four dead bodies of women were found wrapped in burlap and dumped near a road in December.
According to officials, the serial killer is possibly somewhere in Long Island, and all three women were believed to be killed somewhere else and dumped there.
For any information on the Craigslist serial killer case, police are offering a reward of up to $5,000.
