Taiwan president urges country to 600 tons of fat to lose

Let's all 600 tons of fat loss. That call launched by Taiwanese President Ma Ying-jeou yesterday at the start of a national diet campaign.

Ma himself lost in 2009 to 11 pounds two months time. His weight decreased from 82 to 71 pounds. "I ate only two thirds of my normal amount and I was chewing each bite 35 times. This helps digestion and made sure that my meals took more time, " the president wrote in his weekly newsletter.

Those interested can register with the Agency for Health to take part in the campaign. Schools and businesses can then draw up a collective weight of their staff will try to lose games.

Ma will pride themselves on daily exercises that he performs and he bought a scale for his weight daily basis. He said to avoid fried foods and alcoholic beverages and prefers cooked vegetables over sweets.
