Da Bears. Da Packers. Da Game.

Aaron Rodgers will have to do his impression of Ginger against Hurt Locker ...er Urlacher. Jay Cutler has a tamdem of linebackers trying to be the next Ray Nitschke. Who prevails today on the frozen field in Chicago christens the National Conference's entry into the Super Bowl in two weeks.

Two of the most storied franchises in football history test their gridiron grit some under the aura of Lombard and others under the spell of Halas. For those who don't know the difference, you are way too young to keep reading.

These boys aren't playing on some nice manicured lawn today. Think tundra. The niceties of the league disappear whenever the Green Bay Packers take on the Chicago Bears with something on the line. So far advantage Green Bay. Chicago just can't seem to figure them out.

I fully expect this caged match to be a knock-down, drag out. The Packers tamdem of Clay Matthews and A.J. Hawkins dispise that Chicago's Brian Urlacher gets praise as the go to Midwest linebacker. Whether Jay lives up to his namesake in moves will determine whether the Bears can weather the Packer snowplow this time around.

No matter what, anyone watching this contest can be assured of seeing brute strength, blood, tears and mud in one of the best football matchup this year. I believe it will be Da Bears.

I just wonder if this is the NFL's version of the Yankees-Red Sox rivalry.

It surely could be but after the game it appears that the Packers own them very much like the Yankees own the Sox.

The Packers prevail!

Great effort by third-string Bears QB Caleb Hanie in the 4th quarter, though.

Hats off to the Packers. The Packers-Steelers Super Bowl in Texas should be a dandy.
