Timkat Festival is a celebration in Ethiopia commemorating the baptism of Jesus Christ in Jordan river by John the Baptist, it also known as the Feast of Epiphany.
This celebration takes 3 days, it started on January 19 to 21. This festivities takes a rare glimpse of church tradition way back 1000 years ago. Tourist around the world participate to this festivities to witness.
The feast started at night then on 2nd day people commemorates the baptism of Jesus Christ by John the baptist in Jordan river then 3rd day it was devoted to the feast of St. Michael, the most popular Saint in Ethiopia.
