A major earthquake hit in the various parts of Pakistan after midnight with a magnitude of 7.3. According to the Chief Meteorologist Muhammed Riaz, the epicenter was 150 km north-west of Kharan and 300 km from Quetta. According to Reuters, the earthquake hit 34 miles west of Dalbandin at around 1.23 am. The Pacific Tsunami Center assured that the quake would not trigger a tsunami in the Indian Ocean.

Several thousand people got out of their house due to the panic of the possibility of destroying their houses. The government requested the people to go back to their homes. Many eyewitnesses informed that the earthquake in Karachi resulted several houses in shake for seconds. The British troops in Camp Bastion, Afghanistan also noticed the earthquake.

Tremors after the quake had reached Bahrain, Oman, UAE, Iran, Afghanistan and India. The earthquake was felt with MM IV in Islamabad, Karachi, Muscat and Delhi, MM III in Kabul, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. According to the Wikipedia, Two women died of cardiac arrest in Quetta due to the earthquake. Quetta had the quake intensity of MM IV. It is located 330 km north-east of the epicenter.
