On Sunday January 16, 2011, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association presented the sixty-eighth annual Golden Globe Awards. Some 300 celebrities gathered at the International Ballroom in the Beverly Hills Hotel in an intimate setting to honour the best in television and film.

The 2011 Golden Globe Awards were hosted by comedic actor Ricky Gervais.

Each year the daughter of an actor is designated Miss Golden Globe to assist the presenters by bringing out the award statues once the winner is announced. This year Miss Golden Globe was Gia Mantegna, the daughter of actor Joe Mantegna – Agent Joe Rossi on “Criminal Minds”.

The Golden Globe Awards saw a number of first winners this year.
