(Complete Winners List) Apsara Awards 2011

Salman Khan’s “Dabangg” dominated the 6th Apsara Awards 2011 by winning eight awards. Band Baaja Baaraat” ranked second with six awards and “Guzaarish” came in third by grabbing five awards. Salman won the ‘Best Actor’ award and Sonakshi Sinha won the ‘Best Debut Female’ for “Dabangg”. The award for ‘Best Actor in a Negative Role’ went to Sonu Sood for the same film. Again, Singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan got the ‘Best Male Playback Singer’ award for the song “Tere Mast Mast Do Nain” (Dabangg). Music composer duo Sajid-Wajid won the ‘Best Music’ award for “Dabangg”.

The ‘Best Actress’ award was shared by Vidya Balan for “Ishqiya” and Anushka Sharma for “Band Baaja Baraat”. The ‘Best Female Playback Singer’ award also was shared by Mamta Sharma for the song “Munni Badnaam hui” (Dabangg) and Sunidhi Chauhan for the song “Sheila Ki Javaani” (Tees Maar Khan). The ‘Best Director’ award went to Karan Johar for “My Name is Khan”. Farah Khan won the ‘Best Choreography’ award for the hit item number “Sheila ki jawani” in her third directorial film “Tees Maar Khan”.

Veteran actor Dharmendra was felicitated with the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ for his decade contribution to the film industry. The awards for ‘Best Debut Male’ and ‘Best Debut Director’ went to Ranveer Singh and Maneesh Sharma respectively for the film “Band Bajaa Baraat”. Here is the complete list of Apsara Awards 2011.

Best Actor in a supporting role: Arjun Rampal (Raajneeti)

Best Actress in a supporting role- Prachi Desai (Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai)

Best Lyrics- Gulzaar for the song “Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji” (Ishqiya)

Best Male Playback singer- Rahat Fateh Ali Khan for the song “Tere Mast Mast Nain” (Dabangg)
