Detroit, Michigan - According to a Facebook post Thursday by Bishop T. D. Jakes of the Potter's House in Dallas, Dr. Paris Michele Finner-Williams passed away in Detroit.
"This is a sad time for me. I have lost a great friend. Dr Paris Finner Williams passed away. She was a Christian psychologist who was on the front lines with me, helping victims traumatized by Katrina."
Dr. Finner-Williams was a professional mental health pioneer since 1972. She was the founder and chief executive officer of Detroit, Michigan-based Finner-Wiliams and Associates Psychological Services, created in 1979.
As a popular guest on radio and television, she addresses male-female relationships and motivational issues; and has been seen on the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) Praise The Lord program as a repeated interview guest of Bishopand a recurrent guest on the Christian Television Network with Pastor Glenn Plummber.
Her psychological, counseling and legal services include these issues as well as family law and probate matters. She is a founder and the first chairperson of the Black African-American Christian Counselors Division of the American Association of Christian Counselors and a member of the American Psychotherapy Association Board of Directors.
