In Beijing on Sunday, the US Secretary of Defence,, arrived for scheduled talks. At this time, China's military is advancing towards an area where stress increases.
These talks are happening nearly a year after China announced they would not have military discussions with Washington D.C. and cancelled their talks at that time. These current talks also come at a time when China is showing off its military power.
Lately the country has been broadcasting reports that show their missile programme is increasing as well as its navy. There is a strong negative in all this. As many know, North Korea and South Korea have been at odds for many years. The current U.S., and South Korean military exercises have made China angry.
North Korea has said that South Korea is the US puppet because of the way they work with the U.S. North Korea is seeing the exercises as military provocation; they feel it is increasing the tension between the two countries.
Now after all that, Japan is claiming China scrambled their airwaves at least 44 times within a nine-month span. Gates said that the primary concern for the talks is the show of strength in China's military. He never dismissed them as being a great force in our favour in power. They are a force to be reckoned with now that they have obtained so much force in military and the technology through weapons to be a great ally.
