ESPN NEWS gave the severe punishment of suspension to Will Selva for an indefinite period of time, after he used words from a newspaper column without mentioning the original author on Tuesday's show.
Will Selva, who is the anchor of the ESPN program, "Highlight Express", took some words from the Orange County Register column of Kevin Ding to set up commentary for game highlights between Los Angeles Lakers and San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday.
Later, ESPN issued a statement regarding Will Selva plagiarizing comments, admitting that he directly used Ding's views into his script, but forgot to mention that the words belong to Ding.
On Wednesday, Will Selva, who is associated with ESPN as an anchor for the last three years, apologized for his plagiarism and for not living up to high standards of ESPN.
The issue sparked when Kevin Ding heard the broadcast by Will Selva, after returning to his hotel room and posted a response on his blog mentioning the plagiarization by Will Selva.
