Lunar Eclipse Tonight: latest update news about lunar eclipse, lunar eclipse 2010, lunar eclipse december 2010, lunar calendar, lunar eclipse 2010 december. A Total Lunar Eclipse will occur across the continental United States and hopefully the weather forecast is wrong for the Chicago Area. Weather predictions are calling for building clouds on Monday night and snow in the overnight hours. But, if we are lucky, at 1:40 am CST Tuesday morning we will have a winter solstice lunar eclipse that won’t be duplicated for another 84 years. Any parent looking for an unforgettable bonding moment, as well as a gift of nature, should keep an eye on the weather.
And for those in other parts of the country, enjoy!
Lunar eclipses can be observed with the naked eye and if you have a telescope, it will enhance the experience. At its darkest, the moon will be halfway up the horizon in the south-southeast sky. We will not have another winter solstice total lunar eclipse until 2094, and as such allows for a true once in a lifetime experience between generations. Those physical gifts that we will share this holiday season will be forgotten soon after opening, but, the eclipse certainly won’t. It is the type of an event that gets locked into the subconscious and fondly recalled at any given moment.
I like to call them special recollections because they seem to transcend space and time.
With school out for the holidays it shouldn’t be much of an inconvenience to those taking a break from work during this holiday week. It is a special moment that costs nothing, but offers valuable time together with our children. And maybe a little sleepy time adjustment
