Want to know the fileding positions?
Then here is quick description for the Cricket fielding postions:
Rite behind the batsman stands the wicket keeper and on its right side there stand fielders called as "Slip". The number of the slips varies depending upon the bolwer and the batsman and it is decided by the captian.First slip, Second Slip, Third slip and Fourth slip. There can be maximum four slip fileders and the fourth slip is closer to the batsman. Next comes the Gully position, that is somewhat beyound the fourth slip. The fileder on Silly point is on very rigt side of the batsman just where the pitch's width ends. On the right side of the batsman, the half portion of the pitch towards the batsman side there stands another fileder on Silly Mid Off and on the left side is Short Leg. The half portion of the pitch towards the batsman non striker is covered by the Short mid off on the right side and Silly mid on on the left side.
Coming towards the fielders who stand in the middle of the ground. Fly slip is just behind the four slip fielders in the mid of the ground. Short fine leg is rite behind the leg slip in on the mid of the ground. Square leg fielder stands
exactly parallel to the batsman on the mid of the ground. Point position is just behind the Silly point. Similarly Cover point is rite behind the Silly Mid Off but somewhat inner towards the pitch. Extra cover, Mid On and Mid Off all are below the pitch and cover the area behind the non striker batsman.
Now comes the boundray of the ground. On the right side of the batsman Third man, Sweeper, Deep cover, Deep extra cover and Long on field positions cover the boundary in the anti clockwise direction. On the left side, in the clockwise direction the fieldling postions are covered by Fine leg, Long leg, Deep backward square leg, Deep square leg, deep mid wicket, Cow corner and Long on. Long stop is the on position exactly behind the bastsman on the oundary of the ground.
