Filipino boxing champ, the first Asian to win five world boxing titles in different weight divisions, is now set to take foot on the ring this April 16, 2011 against a fighter yet to be decided. However, Sugar is already making promises.
Three contenders for Pacquiao have been marked. Those three include Marquez, Berto and Mosley.
“I’m a better fight, and I say that starting with the question people ask: If Marquez and Shane fight, who would win? Me. I’m the better puncher and the stronger guy", said Mosley. Moreover, he mentioned of being able to take down Pacquiao. “Pacquiao’s a fighter like me. He comes forward. I promise you, I’ll hit him on the chin. His defense is not that good. I knock out all those guys who come at me."
On the other hand, Top Rank promoterand Michael Koncz admitted that they leaning in to Mosley as a possible contender. However, the final decision still rest on the champion's hands.
Mosley holds the reputation of being able to defeat Oscar dela Hoya twice on the ring - a reputation that certainly made a mark on boxing history. However, recent fights of Mosley puts a doubt on the public's mind if whether he is capable of putting up a good fight. He wasn't able to do well against Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Sergio Mora. But he maintained that he have just the perfect style to beat the Pacman.
If ever Mosley will be chosen as Pacquiao's challenger, his promises will be put to the tests on the ring and the better, stronger fighter will emerge with a big shiny belt on his waist.
