AS Springfield MO Turns!
Hello: On this Morning Line on KWTO RADIO 56 AM City of Springfield Dan Wichmer was a guest. He was asked by the host about the allegations that the city held an illegal closed meeting. Mr. Wichmer said he was at the meeting and even spoke. Wichmer laughed and said frankly that they have admitted they did wrong but what is the big deal? The News-Leader staff was there and got all upset that the meeting should have been open to the public. Mr. Wichmer said on the radio show that “I am sure the News-Leader has made some mistakes before---laughing. Hello---if you break the law just have your attorney say “I am sorry-but it really is not that big of deal” What is up with that?
City Manager Greg Burris was on KWTO Drive time the day Heer’s was announced dead. A caller asked why Bass Pro is still getting Hotel Motel Tax. Mr. Burris said that they are but most of the money is going into the “wolf” program where they go into the schools and educate students about wildlife. Well I was there back in 2000 when city council approved the bill to send it to the voters and there was only a sentence that said money would go to the “Wildlife Museum”. That means Mr. Burris is as usual with the City of Springfield “making it up as he goes to sound good”---who and how much of the $200,000 a year is being spent and who’s pocket is the rest going into? Hello: can we all say Corruption at the same time? Actually money laundering is using it for something not meant to be used for.
