
For over 20 years Don Cornelius hosted a show called “Soul Train”. The show was an “American Bandstand” with Soul. Although Cornelius left in 1994, the show continued for a number of years.
For the past 35 years the Soul Train Awards have honoured the best of that soul music. The 2010 Soul Train Awards were hosted by Terrance Howard and Taraji Hensen in Atlanta. Along with the awards were performances by Bilal, Bruno Mars, Cee-Lo, Chante Moore, Chrisette Michele, Dionne Farris, Eric Benet, Erykah Badu, Faith Evans, Freddie Jackson, Coapele, Gyptian, Jazmine Sullivan, Kem, Deyshia Cole, Jeffrey Osborne, Lalah Hathaway, Ne-Yo, Peabo Bryson, rachelle Ferrell, R. Kelly, Tamia, Tank, and El DeBarge.
