Russian IL76 cargo plane Crashes over Karachi Pakistan at 1:48 am local time
Russian IL76 cargo plane # MGCC 142 Crashes at 1:48 am local time over under construction apartment buildings in Karachi Pakistan within two minutes after takeoff from Karachi International airport. Eight crew member dead. One person on the ground received severe burns brought to the hospital. Eight dead bodies of crew have been recovered. Several construction workers sleeping in the under construction buildings feared to be dead or injured. Four dead bodies of workers have been recovered so far.
The plane was carrying relief supplies from the United Arab Emirates to Sudanese capital Khartoum and had landed at Karachi for refueling. People on ground have reported seeing its left engines on fire immediately before the crash. The crash was so sudden that the pilot could not report any emergency to the control tower or radar control at Karachi. Last recorded words of the Pilot were " Change over from control tower to radar". Because of full fuel load the crash resulted in a huge fireball.
