The enormously fat and chubby cat, Prince Chunk, who got fame when he was found wandering aimlessly in the streets of New Jersey after losing his home, died in his sleep due to an apparent heart disease on Sunday.
The 44-pound orphan cat, who garnered laughs as well as love from various entertainment channels as well as tabloids, died at an age of 10. According to its adoptive owner, Vince Damiani, Prince Chunk was just shy of world record, and weighed 22 pounds when brought home from the shelter.
The white tabby Prince Chunk soon lured media and made a number of appearances on various television shows including “Good Morning America” and “Live with Regis and Kelly”.
Inspired by the plight of Prince Chunk, Vince Damiani established a foundation bearing the name of the cat i.e. Prince Chunk Foundation, to help financially unstable pet owners who are unable to cater to the needs of their pets.
