After arranging full proof security of provincial metropolis, security forces, at last have launched a massive operation against the strengthening militants of so-called Laskar-e-Islam (LI) on Saturday morning sources said that mortar shells have been fire from Qila Shakas of FC in tehsil Jamrood and additional contingents of security forces comprised of Six armed vehicles and tanks have been dispatched to the restive area.

From several days, law and order situation in Khyber Agency has been tense while the political administration has imposed indefinite curfew. More than Seventy people have been killed and 120 injured so far in the clashes, cobra helicopters made low flights over the tehsil Bara, Khyber Agency.

After giving full authority to the army chief in connection with the on going operation, Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani in his crisp visit to Peshawar said that talks would be possible with only those who lay down their arms and wants peace. Taking to mediamen, PM said that government would take stern action against miscreantsʼ premier further said that government writ would be established and federal government would continue its support to provincial government in connection with peace accords.

On the other hand, Tehreek Taliban Pakistan( TTP) chief, Baitullah Mehsud strongly reacting over the operation told foreign news agency that he was suspending peace talks with the government further he feared that new operations could be launched against Taliban groups elsewhere in the region.

"The talks will remain suspended until the government stops talking about operations and attacks against us," he said by satellite phone from an undisclosed location.

In the recent development security forces has destroyed the Markaz (head quarter) and home of LI supreme commander, Mangal Bagh.
