Yana Gupta seems to be taking the "wardrobe malfunction" incident that happened on a recent event in India very lightly. In an interview with a news agency, Yana said, “I used to be known as an item girl. Now I will be known as a no-panty girl. I should do an ad for some underwear brand with a tag line saying: `I`ve got them NOW`.”
Gupta, in the past, has appeared on numerous magazine covers, including Elle, Cosmopolitan, Femina, and now on Maxim. Gupta modeled for the premier Kingfisher's calendar and has performed dance numbers in three films including the remix of babuji zara dheere chalo. Before her career in Bollywood, she modeled for international clients likeCalvin Klein and Victoria's Secret.
"For past three weeks I have been rehearsing for a particular dance television show. While doing all the splits and various crazy dance moves, I kept getting irritated by my panties getting stuck in my ass. Now imagine at all times I am being shot by cameras as I rehearse so it just didn`t look good that after every crazy step I`m trying to adjust `myself`. So I thought I`ll sort out the issue by simply not wearing undies as I wear pants for rehearsal,” said Yana.
Yana made her big screen debut in the Bollywood movie Dum for the song 'Babuji Zara Dheere Chalo' which made her famous for cameo item numbers. She was named the new face for Lakmé Cosmetics in 2001. She has also appeared in a Kannada movie named Jogi (film). She played the role of a TV anchor on the countdown show Mirch Masala on ZoomTV where she danced to famous dance numbers.
Yana recently signed up with a leading mobile and PC games company Indiagames as brand ambassador and will be featured in several interesting games and applications related to fitness, puzzles etc. Yana has featured on the Dralbum Back Unda Da Influence, which was released in 2007. She featured in a cameo role in the video for the song "Chargai", released on Aman Hayer's 2008 release Groundshaker 2. The song features vocals from Jazzy B & Apache Indian. She is also very famous for her song "Kadhal yanai" from the blockbuster Tamil film Anniyan [Aparichit in Hindi (dubbed)] and "Aadatanama" from the Telugu film Gharshana(Remake of blockbuster tamil film Kaaka Kaaka).
She continues, “That day I had no time to go home after rehearsal in order to make it to the charity event. I packed my bag in the morning, put my make up, dress, shoes in it but guess what I forgot! Yes I openly admit...I did forget something `slightly` essential to pack. I just pulled my dress down every few steps, but it didn`t help! I had no clue it could be seen. I had no clue till I saw the pictures today, now should I cry over this?”
The actress is just laughing at the incident, “I have only one thing to say. For god`s sake! Stop looking at those pictures! I don`t want anyone getting heart attack here.” the actress said.
