Chris Gayle scored 333 runs against Srilanka at Galle international stadium .Though he couldn’t beat the Brian Lara 400 run record but he creates some special records like – it was actually the first century made by a West Indies player away from the home ground and even it’s the first triple hundred scored by any batsman

Chris Gayle hits 34 fours and nine sixes in 437 balls before he gets out of Mendis ball.. It was his second triple century in test cricket. The first one came in the year 2005, when he scored 317 runs against South Africa.

After Chris Gayle got out for 333, the West Indies declared their innings for 580 for 9 wickets .Mendis being most successful bowler in the innings with 6 wickets for 169 runs in 59 overs. The last six west Indies wicket gone for just 21 runs.

With this triple hundred, Chris Gayle joined the elite club of players like Don Bradman and Virender Sehwag , who scored two triple century in test matches.

There was total three century partnership in his innings – 110 runs with Adrian Barath(50),Scored 196 runs partnership with Darren Bravo (58 runs) and with Brendon Nash(68) made 167 runs.
