A total of 10,000 factory-based jobs are available this year for Filipinos who wish to work in South Korea, according to a newspaper report.

What makes this attractive to prospective workers is that there are no placement fees required. This is a government-to-government deal and therefore applicants are not required to pay any amount.

However, those who wish to apply should pass all the necessary government requirements and pass the Korean examinations particularly learning the language (reading, writing and hearing).

According to the report, South Korean factories pay higher than other countries. A starting salary between PhP30,000 and 40,000 (US$688-918, KRW781,000-1.04 million) per month is given.
