A woman was stripped and her belongings were plundered by villagers when she refused to attend a meeting at Balabhadra Prasad village

The startling incident took place on the night of November 10 in the jurisdiction of Rajnagar police station. A police team rushed to the village yesterday after the filing of report by the victim. However, the villagers mistreated police officials and detained them before another police team rescued them after several hours.

According to Rajnagar police station , a woman filed a report alleging that she was forcibly stripped and molested by villagers as she and her spouse declined to attend the village meeting at the local Maa Budhi Mangala temple. The villagers later looted belongings of the couple.

Police have arrested one person in connection with the incident.
