TSA Full-Body Scans Under Fire

As getting through security at airports is increasingly becoming tough, two pilots belonging to the biggest unions have called upon all pilots to revolt against TSA. It is to be noted that the techniques and technologies used for screening at airports are increasingly coming under fire. The pilots revolt against TSA is yet another development in the protest against the screening techniques.

The pilots protest against TSA is an answer to the screening that involves full body scan at almost all major airports of the U.S. The so called security screening requires pilots and travelers to go through full body scan. The full body scan exposes naked figure of the person being scanned for security purposes. This factor has compelled the pilots to call for protest against the TSA.

It should be noted that authorities have stated that the images are filtered for privacy and immediately removed, but recently it was revealed by the Electronic Privacy Information Center that the data is in reality saved and some of them are even exploited for training purposes. The protest against TSA, thus, appears to be a perfect action against the authorities. The protest against TSA is likely to become stronger since the full patdown during the scan is widely being deemed to be “sexual molestation”, counting “extensive” patdowns of the groin and, for females, the part of the chest.

Meanwhile, in protest against the TSA, the unions of the pilots are supporting their associates plus the privacy of travelers. It is to be note that one pilot is set to sue the government quoting the “unreasonable search” article in the constitution.
