It can be regarded as unusual, intimidating, indeed authentic and luxurious, but most of all very violent. Yes, they are the furniture creations (see photos) of a French artist Michael Haillard.
I wonder how many wild animals were hunted and killed just to get the perfect raw materials for the art. Who knows, even lives of the hunters I guess were possibly invested to come up with these interestingly unique pieces of furniture.
Haillard does not only find satisfaction on the skin of crocodiles, zebras, ostrich and other wildlife’s coverings, he also insets in his furniture other details such as animal horns, tusks and tails. The design structure is not entirely made of natural fur but combined with other natural materials such as wood, bronze and silver.
Very authentic as they are very rare, rare in the sense that one unit could have cost another generation of wild animals. A female wild animal could have produced more offspring that could have sustained their part in the ecosystem.
